Junior Tennis Program -- June 7, 2010 - July 29, 2010

The Aurora Country Club tennis program is created to bring your children the best tennis instruction and play possible. Brian and his staff will work hard to teach your student the basic strokes, rules, and strategies needed to become a tennis player. Our staff will bring games and competition to help your player meet their goals. We will teach the game and work very hard to make it a fun experience. Tennis is a life long sport that can provide a lifetime of fun and fitness.

The tennis committee has increased the number of playing days in all of their programs (Rising Stars, Stars, Super Stars, and Excellence). The optional Thursday drop-in match/game days are designed to give the students needed match play, so they can learn strategies and competition. Friday interclub match play is designed to provide a higher level of play and competition. To play in the Friday matches the player must be able to score on their own, know singles and doubles play, keep the ball in play, and serve consistently. These new programs are designed to give your players a variety of tennis experiences for improvement and fun.

Please feel free to discuss the placement of your player with Brian. Your player's placement will ultimately determine which program is best for his/her improvement and enjoyment. If you have any questions about the programs please feel free to contact your Tennis Director, Brian Brooks at 630-892-3300. Please call Brian to sign up for all junior programs.

Rising Stars (Ages 4 - 6 ) : Monday and Wednesday - 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. -- $85. This class covers all of the basics and compares to most pee-wee tennis programs. We have a lot of fun with lead-up games and teach the beginning skills to start your child's tennis adventure.

Stars (Ages 7 - 9) : Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. -- $245.
This class will continue to build the basic strokes and bridge to point play. This class is for beginners and students that have progressed past the level of Rising Stars.

Super Stars (Ages 9 and up) : Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. -- $245.
This class is designed to get the player ready to play for our team. We will continue to work on stroke basics, match play situations and rules. These players will probably qualify to play in the Friday interclub matches.

Excellence Group (Middle School and High School Ages) : Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. -- $355
We will continue to work on strokes and match play strategies. Classes will include drill and match play. These players qualify to play in the Friday interclub match play.

Stars and Super Star Classes have an optional, guided match play class on Thursday at their regular times. Brian will lead modified or regular match play for the students on Thursday. This is not included in the price of the regular class. It is a drop-in class that costs $10/hour. A two (2) player minimum is required for this class each week.

Junior Travel Team will play matches on selected Friday afternoons. We will play other Country Clubs in the area. Times and location vary with each opponent. Super Stars and Excellence players qualify for this event. This is an optional event for the players, and is $10/match. To play in the Friday matches, the player must be able to score on their own, know singles and doubles play, be able to keep the ball in play and serve consistently. It is recommended that players skilled enough to play, do so to gain needed playing experience and find different competition.

Programs are eight (8) weeks long (one week longer than last season). The Star and Super Star classes have been increased to three (3) days a week with an optional drop-in day of Thursday. These changes are made to give your player a better chance to improve his/her tennis game.

All players will get a tennis t-shirt, if they signup before the first program date.

The price of the class includes rain days, vacations, illness etc.. There are no make up days. Call Brian Brooks at 630-892-3300 for questions or to signup for all junior programs.
